About Flowsmith
Flowsmith is the automation and AI practice of KD Technical Services Inc. (KDTS), a managed security and IT firm in Langley, BC, working with professional firms across Canada since 2010.
Why a security firm
Every useful automation connects systems, and every AI tool reads data. Those are security decisions before they are productivity ones.
KDTS looks after identity, devices, email and backup for firms that hold sensitive client information. Flowsmith exists because those same clients started asking how to adopt AI without undoing that work. The answer involves permissions, licensing, data residency, monitoring and policy, which is exactly where a security-focused IT firm is most useful.
We work in Microsoft 365 and in Google Workspace, properly. Many providers treat Google Workspace as an afterthought; we do not.
What we believe
Start with the process, not the tool
Fix how the work flows before deciding what should do it.
Your data stays in your tenant where possible
And where it cannot, including through a connector or outside service, you know where it goes, why, and whether it leaves Canada.
Human review where it matters
A person checks anything that reaches a client, a regulator or a bank account.
Nothing you cannot switch off
Every automation has an owner, a log and an off switch.
Documented so you are not locked in
Written so another competent provider could take it over tomorrow.
Part of KDTS
Flowsmith engagements are delivered and supported by KDTS, under the KDTS Master Services Agreement. Firms that want the systems underneath kept secure as well can add KDTS managed security and IT: managed detection and response, identity threat detection and response, email domain protection and Canadian-hosted Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace backup.
